            Early physics at LHC

The status of the construction and installation of CMS detector will be
reviewed. The detector first assembled on the surface is now installed in
the experimental cavern. A working detector is foreseen to be operational
for cosmics by end of January 2008. A second part of my seminar will be
devoted to a discussion of the general commissioning strategy of the LHC
detectors, with a particular emphasis on trigger, calibration and
alignment. Examples for early physics preparations will be the main topic
of the present seminar.
