We are looking for a postdoc at the department of Biosciences and 
Nutrition, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm area, Sweden. The position 
is available in the unit of Alessandra Villa 
(http://ki.se/en/people/alevil). The project is a collaboration with the 
group of Svein Kleiven at the School of Technology and Health (KTH) on 
understanding subcellular processed involved in traumatic brain injuries.

The candidate will investigate how mechanical stress affects the axon’s 
membrane at the microscopic level, using molecular dynamics simulation 
at atomistic or coarse-grained level. The candidate will also develop an 
approach to couple the atomistic (or coarse grained) description of 
axonal membranes with the finite element description of the axon fiber 
(developed by the group of Svein Kleiven).
