Dear colleagues,

I kindly invite you to the seminar to be held tomorrow by dr. Timur Şahin
from Akdeniz University, Space Sciences and Technologies Department,
Antalya, Turkey, with title:

On Some Observational Aspects of Post-Asymptotic Giant Branch Stars

Location: Department of Physics, F-201
Time: 13:00 on Thursday, November 8th, 2018

----SEMINAR ABSTRACT--------------------------------------------------

The post-asymptotic giant branch stars are low-mass stars evolving between
the asymptotic giant branch (AGB; testbed of nucleosynthesis) and the white
dwarf cooling track. Studies on their chemical compositions provide
important observational constraints on several important evolutionary
processes such as mixing, mass-loss, and most importantly, on
nucleosynthesis occurring on the AGB. Spectroscopic interpretation of
these constraints is not straightforward and some compromises are still
present. In this talk, I will give brief information on some observational
aspects of post-AGB stars with an emphasis on the high resolution echelle
spectroscopy as a tool for their analyses.

Srdačno,
Mihael Makek
