Poštovani,

u srijedu, 18.9. u 13:00 sati (Seminar TZ 201, 2. kat, Fizički odsjek) će Minh Huynh (University of Western Australia, Deputy International SKA Project Scientist) održati predavanje:

An Overview of the Square Kilometre Array

The Square Kilometre Array (SKA) will be the premier instrument to study radiation at centimetre and metre wavelengths from the cosmos, and in particular hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe. The SKA will probe the dawn of galaxy formation as well as allow advances in many other areas of astronomy, such as fundamental physics, astro-biology and cosmology. Phase 1, which will be about 10% of the full SKA collecting area, will be built in Australia and South Africa. This talk will summarise the key science drivers of the SKA, provide an update on recent SKA Organisation activities and describe the baseline design for Phase 1.

Lijep pozdrav,
Vernesa
