**Maria Sklodowska Curie was born in Warsaw in the middle of the Russian 
occupation. Since she was born she was blessed and condemned at the same 
time to fight against all sorts of discrimination, starting from 
nationalism, chauvinism, sexism, racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism. All 
her life she was a a first women to win the positions that were reserved 
ONLY FOR MAN at the time: first woman PhD in France, First woman Nobel 
Prize winner, First to win the second Nobel Prize, First lady to 
establish a scientific laboratory in France, Fist woman to compete for 
entrance in the French Academy of Science, First women ever to have 6 
Nobel Prizes in the close family. Even when she passed away she become 
the first women to be buried in Pantheon by her own merit.

She remains to be the icon of women in science, the first female steps 
into the deep masculine snow of scientific research.
