NEW METHODS FOR NANOPARTICLE DETECTION AND CHARACTERIZATION

        There is urgent need of new, more powerful instrumental methods for nanoparticle detection and characterization. ISAS in Dortmund is developing such methods based on different physical principals. Two very promising will be exemplarily be presented. They are based on ICP-spectrometry and surface plasmon resonance imaging and will allow rapid characterization of particles below 100 nm diameter, if fully developed.
