Subject: Gordon Research Conference on Organellar Channels & Transporters(first announcement) - July 30 - August 4, 2017 at Mount Snow Resort, West Dover, VT, USA

Dear Colleagues,

We are happy to inform you that the preliminary program of our upcoming international research conference, GRC on Organellar Channels and
Transporters, entitled "Cell Signaling and Metabolism Regulation by Ion and Small Molecule Fluxes Across Organellar Membranes" is available at the conference website (https://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?id=16867).

Registration deadline is 2nd of July 2017.

The conference takes place biennially and brings together scientists (from thought leaders to trainees) in a very interactive and engaging program.

The 2017 meeting will focus on several important topics related to membrane ion channel and transporter research in both animals and plants. Different sessions are decicated to ion and solute transport in organelles such as nucleus, mitochondria, lysosomes, endoplasmatic reticulum, vacuoles and chloroplasts. In addition, channels/transporters in exo/endo-cytosis pathways and those participating in the cross-talk between organelles will be discussed. Dedicated sessions will address most recent breakthroughs in basic science and in the pathophysiology of intracellular channels and transporters as well as newest achievements in emerging methodologies employed to unravel organellar ion fluxes.

GRC on Organellar Channels and Transporters will be appealing to a broad, international and interdisciplinary audience in the field of intracellular ion channel and transporter research and will be the ideal forum to connect with the world renowned leaders in this field.

Each session includes slots for speakers (especially for early career investigators) selected from abstracts as well as late-breaking research. There are still 13 open slots in different sessions! Since one of the focuses of this conference is the promotion of young researchers, the poster sessions will serve as a platform for younger scientists to enhance scientific networking and to interact with current opinion leaders in their field.

To specifically promote the career of female scientists, a round-table discussion is scheduled to give them a chance to meet and discuss their career opportunities with world-leading role models who have been successful in their career.

For detailed information about the conference and registration procedures, please visit our website site at:(https://www.grc.org/programs.aspx?id=16867).

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the conference in Mount Snow Resort!

Best wishes,

Ildiko Szabo, University of Padova, Italy
Michael Zhu, University of Texas, USA
Bruno Gasnier, University Paris Descartes, France
