PhD in Computational Biophysics at the Italian Institute of Technology, 
Genoa, Italy: Modeling and Molecular Dynamics simulation of neuronal 
proteins

A 3 years PhD student position is available at the Center for Synaptic 
Neuroscience of the Italian Institute of Technology, Genoa, Italy, 
starting November 2016.
The project will involve structural modeling and molecular dynamics 
simulation  of synaptic proteins, in close interaction with 
experimentalists. Possible specific  topics include modeling optogenetic 
probes to modulate neuronal gene  transcription, studying the 
differential ATP and calcium binding by synapsin isoforms, or the 
structural and functional properties of the newly identified PRRT2 
protein. Ideal candidates should have physics and/or chemistry 
background and experience in molecular dynamics simulations.
